Kitchen Valance

Here is the valance I knit for the kitchen. I just finished it last night.

I used the Wheat Pattern from Vogue's 2011 Page-A-Day Calender. Just measured the length of the window, did a swatch to figure out how many repeats I needed, and cast on in Valley Yarns, Longmeadow (Natural). It took almost 3 skeins. I did one repeat of the lace and stockinette stitch until I felt that it was long enough. Did a fold line by purling on a knit row and knit 12 more rows. I blocked it and starched it, then folded over, stitched a pocket, and voila!
